Sweating Under Wigs Treatment
A Sweaty Head Under a Wig can be Miserable - but there is an Effective Treatment
A free online or phone mini consultation with Dr Gwen
When you wear a wig or hair system, scalp sweating can matter a lot.
You may find yourself dreading hot weather, avoiding exercising wearing your wig, or just suffering with a hot, irritated head.
Maybe you love exercise but dread your wig slipping as you sweat. Maybe in hot weather, you wish so badly you could sweat less. Maybe you're suffering menopausal hot flushes and wig wearing has become more difficult than it used to be.
If you would love to contend with less scalp sweating, you have the option to have treatment that could give you up to six months of relief.
Scalp Sweat Reducing Treatment
At Growth Factor Hair Clinic, we offer a specialised treatment designed to reduce scalp sweating for up to six months.
Many patients have just one or two treatments per year and say they feel so much more comfortable.
What's Involved in Growth Factor Scalp Sweat Treatment?
Assessment
1. Consultation and assessment for suitability
2. We prescribe your treatment medicine
3. Treatment Planning using ultrasound and dermascopicimaging
Treatment
1. Local anaesthetic (cream and/or cooling) for 10-30 minutes
2. Disinfect the scalp skin
3. Gentle delivery of the medicine to the sweat glands in your scalp
How does the scalp sweat reduction treatment work?
We use a prescription medicine to reduce the activity of the sweat glands.
The medicine blocks the signal from nerves to the treated sweat glands so they don't get the signal to sweat.
Does it hurt?
The treatment itself is a little uncomfortable but we have developed ways of making it as pleasant as possible.
How Much Does Scalp Sweat Treatment cost?
Scalp Sweat Treatment costs £360
After your first treatment, you have the option of joining our Sweat Treatment Subscription, spreading the cost of your annual treatments over the year and receive occasional extra treats. The price for this is £60 per month by direct debit.
Some people only want one treatment per year - usually April or May and this lasts through the majority of the warmer months.
Subscription for maintenance at one treatment per year is £30 per month.
